C’EST LE TOUR

A couple days before the race in Paris, I got a call from my friend, Quique: “Dude, we have to make a documentary about the ‘first’ female Tour de France with the WNT team for Orbea.” I was especially excited to get to be so close to the action and tell the story from our point of view.

The project consisted of following the WNT team during the Tour de France, but not only showing the sports/competition side. We went deeper to get to know the women, what it meant for them to race in the Tour de France, what their goals were, and above all, we wanted to show the history of the team from a personal perspective during the most important event of the year. Getting the chance to experience the Tour de France from the inside was very special as it gives you an idea of the magnitude of this grueling event–everyone wants to witness it and feel what it’s like to be there. There’s no doubt how lucky I am to have lived the event behind my camera and tell the story from my perspective. Big thanks to NVCR and Orbea for letting me go to the event and develop my work.
