PATRICE IN THE GABAS VALLEY. ARTISANS
This project was born from a series of beautiful coincidences. A journey with Primavera through the Gabas Valley in France, a concert that filled us with inspiration, and an immense obsession with finding a story related to transhumant shepherds.
We were driving along a French road, deep within a valley where the dense fog obscured almost everything from view. We drove slowly, trying to catch a glimpse of the landscape, and suddenly, to our left, near the road, was Patrice milking his precise flock of sheep. Without hesitation, we pulled over to get a closer look at that scene.
As soon as we got out of the car, I grabbed my camera and began trying to communicate with Patrice, I knew that this was the story I had been searching for. Over several hours on different days, Patrice explained to us what his daily life was like—caring for the sheep, milking them, and making cheese from the milk they provided. It was truly beautiful to witness the entire process and to understand it. Some days later, we even had the opportunity to meet the person who cared for and matured his cheeses before they were enjoyed.
We were fortunate to conclude the project in such a way, buying and tasting one of the cheeses that Patrice had made months earlier. It was a simple way to express our gratitude for everything he had done for us. Thank you, Patrice.
